Dear Mr. President

Pink’s song for (obviously) US President George W. Bush. So touchy… 😦

Dear Mr. President

Come take a walk with me

Let's pretend we're just two people and

You're not better than me

I'd like to ask you some questions if we can speak honestly

What do you feel when you see all the homeless on the street

Who do you pray for at night before you go to sleep

What do you feel when you look in the mirror

Are you proud

How do you sleep while the rest of us cry

How do you dream when a mother has no chance to say goodbye

How do you walk with your head held high

Can you even look me in the eye

And tell me why

Dear Mr. President

Were you a lonely boy

Are you a lonely boy

Are you a lonely boy

How can you say

No child is left behind

We're not dumb and we're not blind

They're all sitting in your cells

While you pay the road to hell

What kind of father would take his own daughter's rights away

And what kind of father might hate his own daughter if she were
gay

I can only imagine what the first lady has to say

You've come a long way from whiskey and cocaine

How do you sleep while the rest of us cry

How do you dream when a mother has no chance to say goodbye

How do you walk with your head held high

Can you even look me in the eye

Let me tell you bout hard work

Minimum wage with a baby on the way

Let me tell you bout hard work

Rebuilding your house after the bombs took them away

Let me tell you bout hard work

Building a bed out of a cardboard box

Let me tell you bout hard work

Hard work

Hard work

You don't know nothing bout hard work

Hard work

Hard work

Oh

How do you sleep at night

How do you walk with your head held high

Dear Mr. President

You'd never take a walk with me

Would you

  1. Great Song!

    Thanks for posting it!

  2. Excellent song. Whoever found her performance thank you so much.

  3. I loved it. How can I own it? It was truely moving.

  4. This song was awful. I live in a military town and and what makes me so mad about it is that the men and women in the military chose the life they have and many wouldn’t give it up including several members of my own family who have fought in Vietnam, Desert Storm and the War in Iraq. I work in a military hospital and most of those men and women risk their lives and have to be away from their own families and Pink just goes on singing about stuff she doesn’t even know about. There is a lot of stuff in there, that are real problems besides the war, but you can not pin it all on the president because our government is not set up that way. There is a host of people to blame for our current national problems including past presidents, senators, house reps, and governors. Pink needs to go back to school and learn the judicial system.

  5. Just like Bruce Springsteen, Jimi Hendrix and a host of others Pink is just using her gift of song to express HER POLITICAL THOUGHTS AND VIEWS. The President is the person that Americans see first when ever there is a problem. Pink is just asking questions that we all want to know the answers to, so why not ask the President?
